About Middle Earth Minerals

Middle Earth Minerals specializes in rare and unusual minerals for all types of collectors.  A mineral collection should be a pleasure for the eye as well as the intellect, and it is our goal to provide you with minerals that will titillate both.

Here at Middle Earth Minerals, we appreciate rare species, unusual crystal habits, bizarre twinning, uncommon mineral associations, pseudomorphs, fluorescents, tenebresecents, phosphorescents, radioactives, classic and unusual localities, old and historically significant specimens and minerals with inclusions as well as simply outstanding specimens.

From micromounts to museum-sized specimens — all of these are waiting to pass through our web pages.

The thrill of the hunt is part of the pleasure of collecting minerals, so if you don't see what you want here, let us know and we will help you capture that elusive specimen.

About Linda

I started selling minerals in 2005 in order to be able to play with them as much as possible.  The website launch had to be delayed until I retired from my engineering job at Boeing in 2008.  I worked in anti-submarine warfare for 8 years, as a rocket scientist (no kidding) for Rocketdyne for 20 years, and in large COIL lasers for the last 4 years.  While at Rocketdyne, I began visiting school classrooms to introduce kids to fun science activities.  I bought some minerals to illustrate frozen chemistry to the kids.  In short order, I had to admit that I was hooked on minerals and was really buying them for myself.

At the Houston Museum of Natural Science, next to a giant pseudomorph!
